ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Roy L. Adger Jr. was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Roy L. Sr. and Maxine C. Adger in 1954. His family relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1955 where he grew up. He attended Belle Haven Elementary School, Green Oaks Jr. High School, and graduated from Menlo Atherton High School. He married a year and a half after graduation and joined the United States Air Force in 1974. His first duty station was Webb Air Force Base (AFB) in Big Springs, TX.
During Roy’s 20 years in the military, he and his wife had three children; James L., Christina M., and Roy III. He was stationed at six different bases; Webb AFB, Williams AFB (Chandler, Az.), Beale AFB (Marysville, CA.), Dyess AFB (Abilene, TX.), Florennes AB (Florennes, Belgium), and McConnell AFB (Wichita, KS). He was able to go to a couple of temporary duty assignments which included Kadena AB (Okinawa, Japan) and RAF Mildenhall (Mildenhall, England). His career started out in Aircraft Maintenance (for about 4 years), and then he switched to Computer Operator (later known as Information Technology or I.T.) for the rest of his 16 years. He had some bumps in the road ending in a divorce, remarried and divorced again. As he looked back on his marriages all he could think of was that he was living in the flesh.
Roy took the time to refocus his energy on the Word of God by studying under a very good pastor in Wichita, KS. He took a trip to Los Angeles in 2003 to be with his siblings during Thanksgiving when he met a woman who later became his wife. This time he knew it was right because of questions he had about a long-distance relationship that was answered through sermons at her church in Los Angeles and his in Wichita. He packed up, moved to Inglewood, CA., married in 2004, and started attending another church with an excellent First Family teaching the Word of God. Now he is attending a School of Ministry instituted by this First Family. He and his wife are parents of six children, seventeen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
